Profit Protection

Hi there,

Colin here again from the Repricer team! Can you believe it’s been a whole week since we looked at saving time in Repricer? Time sure flies doesn’t it… Sorry, I’ll get my coat.🤣

This week we’re going to take a look at some of the powerful rule features that the team here have developed to let you take your repricing to the next level. Maximize your profits and automate your margin calculations to ensure that you never sell at a loss. So without further ado, let’s get right into it!

Sleep Mode

Within your repricing rule, you will find our Sleep Mode feature. Using Sleep Mode you can pause repricing between the same hours each day. For example, between 4 am and 6 am. But the pause is only part of it, you can also push your Amazon price to its Maximum during this period. The aim here is to pull your competitors’ prices up with you, then when repricing starts again you will both start from a higher price point. This will allow you to secure a higher margin while continuing to be competitive. The most common use of sleep mode for this purpose is during the early hours of the morning when there are fewer buyers.

Sleep Mode Feature

Sleep Mode, by letting you increase your price during specific hours, also allows you to effectively offer a static price for a specific period each day and only compete outside of these hours. This can be helpful if you don’t want to price below a specific price during set hours.

Out-of-Stock to Max

If you are the type of seller whose cost prices change regularly this feature is a must! When your product goes out-of-stock on Amazon, your inactive listing remains on their site with the last price set. This means that when it comes back into stock, the product will go back on sale at the last price set.

This isn’t ideal; if you bring your product back into stock and your Cost Price is now higher, this will cause your product to go back on sale priced too low. Repricer is fast, but with the world of deal websites and bots no matter how fast you are, if your product is priced too low on Amazon, someone will notice and take advantage of it.

Out of Stock to Max feature

This is where Out-of-Stock to Max comes in, when your product goes out-of-stock on Amazon we’ll increase your price on Amazon to its Maximum Price. This way, when it comes back into stock it’ll be priced higher than usual. Then Repricer will bring your product’s price down to the right level rather than the other way round! This allows you to ensure that you don’t sell it before it has repriced.

Here is a video showing how you can use this yourself.

Kick-Start (Plus Plan Feature)

Kick-Start is a great feature designed to keep your competitors guessing as to your repricing aims. If your pricing is easy to see (beat by 1c, for example) your competitors can look at methods to counter it. By keeping them guessing you make it harder for them to really know what your strategies are. That’s where Kick-Start comes in.

Kick-Start lets you have your rule jump in price at specified intervals and remain at that price for a while before starting to compete again. You can control how often, how much and for how long your price remains higher. For example, you could have your price jump by 2% every 3 hours and remain at that level for 45 minutes before starting to compete again.

This has the added benefit of ensuring that you get updated product information which Amazon doesn’t supply unless a competitor changes price such as the current Buy Box price.

Net Margin Repricing (Expert Plan Feature)

The most important part of any repricing tool is ensuring that your products never sell at a loss. Normally this is by letting you set a Minimum and Maximum Price, though that can be a pain. Juggling your Cost Price, Profit Margin, shipping, fees, tax, etc. Who has time for all that? Well, with Repricer’s Net Margin feature you can leave all that at the door and let us do it for you. With Net Margin we’ll automatically download your fees from Amazon and as long as you supply us with your Cost Price and desired margin we’ll do the rest.
Net Margin Repricing on repricer
Within your Repricing Rules, you can set up different Net Margin calculations allowing you to use different calculations depending on your product categories. You can get really exciting results by mixing Net Margin and Automations to automatically swap margin calculations based on factors such as stock. Here is a video and a knowledge base article showing you how you can use this yourself.
